Cagliari midfielder Ibrahim Sulemana has been called up for the first time to the Black Stars for the 2026 World Cup qualifying match against Mali and the Central African Republic.
After making an impression in several tryouts, Sulemana joined Atlanta’s youth team in 2019 from Sunyani. However, after suffering a serious injury that prevented Atlanta from using him any more, he eventually went to Hellas Verona in 2021.

The next year, the defensive midfielder advanced to the senior squad and made his debut in October of that year, in a 2-1 loss to Salernitana.
In July 2023, the 21-year-old relocated from Verona to Cagliari, where he appeared in 14 Serie A games and netted two goals.
On June 6th, Ghana will play Mali, and on June 10th, the Central African Republic. With three points gained in two games, Otto Addo’s team is in fourth place.
Otto Addo’s belief in youth is demonstrated by Sulemana’s inclusion to the team and the opportunities he provided for young players like as Ibrahim Osman and Forson Amankwah.
The youthful player will, however, have to battle his way into the starting lineup because recent occupants of the center midfield position include Baba Iddrisu and Abdul Salis Samed.
