This recognition highlights his wide-ranging influence outside of West Africa, despite the fact that Rema finally won the award for “African Artiste of the Year,” for which he was also nominated.
At the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center in Atlanta, the Headies Awards 2023 honored the increasing influence of African music on the international music scene.
