Darkovibes Seals Off The Year With Super Infectious Rap Cut ‘Yao’ | LISTEN HERE

Paul Nii Amu Andrew Darko, popularly known as Darkovibes, Ghanaian contemporary Afrobeats musician and songwriter, has released another addictive hit titled “Yao.”

After the artist recently revealed that an EP called “BUTiFLY” will be due out early next year. “Yao” is now the second prelude single from the album, following the sensual and jazz-influenced “Happy Day.”

According to Darkovibes, “Yao” simply means “may it come to pass as we stand firm.” The song’s intended meaning because it is an affirmative answer to assertions.

“Yao” is a mid-tempo deep cut rap song inspired by Afrobeats voices. DarkoVibes sings about keeping optimistic in the face of life’s vicissitudes while deftly switching from streets-laden words in pidgin and nuanced patois to his native Ga language.

The danceable Afro-Pop inflections to the instrumentation in the song’s last section, which was produced by music whiz and super producer Killbeatz. “Yao” stand out as a song with a contagious mood and high replay value. DarkoVibes continues, “This is true African spiritual vibrations,” as a result.

DarkoVibes proved last year that he had the natural ability to create songs with “Je M’appelle,” a song he wrote with the great Davido that is a party starter. The song amassed over a million YouTube views in only two weeks after release.
