“I Don’t Depend on Royalties”: Joyce Blessing Shares Her Financial Strategy

Joyce Blessing, a Ghanaian gospel performer, has stated that her income does not come purely from music royalties.

In a recent interview with GTV’s Breakfast Show, the award-winning singer discussed the difficulties musicians encounter with royalty payments in Ghana. She pointed out that, while the Ghana Music Rights Organization (GHAMRO) is in charge of collecting royalties, the system is not always dependable enough for musicians to rely on for consistent revenue.

Joyce Blessing revealed that she has diversified her revenue streams, including a 10-acre cocoa estate that provides her with cash in addition to her music profession. She also expressed interest in pursuing other endeavors, claiming that she could have pursued alternative hobbies had she furthered her schooling.

The gospel singer also expressed her political neutrality, stating that while she is not aligned with any political party, she would perform at rallies if invited, putting her love for Ghana first.

Joyce Blessing also attributed her success to her natural voice, stating that exhaustion is the main element influencing her singing. She ended the interview by revealing her current single, Over Do.
