I want to set an example with Mr Drew – Kuami Eugene

Kuami Eugene, a multi-award-winning musician, will not back down in his pursuit of justice from Mr Drew, a fellow musician.

Few weeks ago, Kuami Eugene claimed that he wrote about 80% of Mr. Drew’s successful song “Case,” but the latter has yet to give him credit or his cut of the song’s sales.

In a recent interview on Adom FM, the “Rockstar” stated that the issue has not tainted their relation in any way, but he’s just asking for Mr Drew to do the right thing.

“We have never had an issue but the problem is, with our work, Mr Drew reminds me of what my father said before he died; before I became a household name my dad said to me,’with this work, you come and top and then you go back down, so please be very careful.’ That’s why my father did not want me to go into music because he felt it wasn’t a stable profession. That was his fear,” he explained.

He continued; “With the Mr Drew situation, the song is doing good out there, and the chorus which has caught a lot of attention, I wrote it so I was just thinking he would share some of the revenue from the song with me. I was always want to be behind closed doors when I write for people, I just expected to be paid.”

Kuami Eugene claims that he believes Mr. Drew should not have released the music without his consent and has pledged to make an example of him.

“It’s work and I don’t blame him but it wasn’t fair for him to release the song without any notice and not share any revenue…After I expressed myself after he ignored my messages…I need to set an example with him,” he added.
