It’ll be my dream – Guardiola begs two Man City players not to leave club

Pep Guardiola says it is his “dream” to see Bernardo Silva and Kyle Walker commit to new contracts at Manchester City.

The Blues have experienced a wonderful run of success at the Etihad Stadium that culminated in a historic treble victory last season. The Portugal and England internationals have been pivotal players during this run of success. City is currently exerting every effort to keep both men in Manchester.

Silva’s contract is set to expire in 2025, although there have been rumors of a transfer to Paris Saint-Germain, while Walker, who is entering the final year of his current contract, has also drawn interest from Bayern Munich.

Guardiola wants to see two extensions negotiated. When questioned about rumors claiming constructive conversations had been had with Silva.

The Catalan coach said: “It will be my dream, like Kyle Walker. Hopefully it happens. From the deep of my heart, from the bottom of my heart, I wish [it happens].”

Silva, who is currently 29 years old, has played 308 times for City since joining the team in 2017. Walker, who turned 33 at the end of the previous campaign, joined the Blues in the same summer as Silva, and has appeared in 257 games for the team. Over the course of six memorable years, both players contributed to 15 trophies being won.
