Ghanaian champions Medeama SC clinched a crucial first-leg advantage in the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League by defeating Nigerian outfit Remo Stars.
The Yellow and Mauves won the closely contested game on Sunday at Cape Coast Stadium by a score of 1-0.
When Jonathan Sowah scored to give his team the much-needed lead in the 22nd minute, Medeama’s tireless efforts were rewarded. Despite being in complete control, Medeama was unable to widen their advantage before halftime as Remo Stars held firm and remained composed.
