In the tapestry of musical collaborations, multiple award-winning Ghanaian singer/songwriter, Jane Boafowaa Yahaya Awindor, better known by the stage name Efya, has opened about her collaborations with other musicians and how some have given her the biggest eminence in the Ghanaian music industry.
According to the ‘Super Super’ hitmaker, her best collaborations are songs she did with renowned rapper, Sarkodie. She further divulged that she has worked with almost 120 artists and therefore her hardest collaboration will be anything she did with the ‘Better Days’ rapper.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Joy Fm’s Kwame Dadzie on Showbiz A-Z, the celebrated songstress said; “I have worked with almost 120 artistes. So the hardest collaboration will be anything that I did with Sarkodie.”
The singer, who is known for hit songs such as ‘I’m in Love with You’ and ‘Saara’ by Sarkodie; ‘Hold Me Down’ by Akwaboah, ‘One of Your Own; featuring Bisa K Dei, among others, to a greater extent reiterated a statement she made on X, formally known as Twitter about two years ago that artistes who had not released works she had been featured on for the past three years should come for a retake or not release the work at all.
Things change with the passage of time, according to the songwriter, as musicians improve on their skill by the day, thus songs recorded roughly three years ago must be severely updated and fine-tuned to match the current taste of music listeners.
Efya noted that new kicks and loops are released every year, which is why every song must reflect the present rather than the past.
“Nowadays it depends on the mic you are using. There is a certain way that I need things to be. The upgrade is not easy. When it’s done, it has to be maintained. It’s not really that bad. It’s no shade or anything. Come let’s make the song better,”
”So if you want to really release the song now and appeal to the ears of the people now you need to make it something that will be a hit now, not the previous one,” she said.
