Livingstone Etse Satekla, professionally known as Stonebwoy, a celebrated Ghanaian afro pop, dancehall, and reggae musician, recently stated that it is not mandatory for every musician to take on corporate social responsibilities (CSRs).
In an interview with Asaase Radio’s Yaad Settingz, King Lagazee revealed, “As an artist who loves to be socially active, I don’t only use my music and voice, but I plan towards practicalising solutions to certain problems, but not everyone is obligated to do the same.”
The award-winning musician went on to say that it is critical to value everyone’s life. “This does not mean that I have so much in abundance, but this is coming from the core that makes me human,” he said.

The singer is well-known for his strong stance against illegal mining, also known as “galamsey.” He has spoken out against Pra River pollution and its negative impact on water resources for six communities in the Shama district of the Western Region.
Stonebwoy donated 40,000-liter capacity mechanised boreholes for four of the six communities through his Livingstone Foundation. The boreholes provide treated water to eight communities and can be connected to individual homes.
