In just their second season in the top division, FC Samartex accomplished a spectacular accomplishment by winning the 2023–24 Ghana Premier League title.
The Timber Giants won the trophy with two games remaining because they have continuously outperformed more seasoned teams.

In the face of opposition from Nations FC, Aduana FC, and Medeama SC, the Samreboi-based team survived to claim first place. On a rainy Sunday, June 2, 2024, they defeated Bibiani Gold Stars 1-0 in matchday 32 at the Nsenkyire Sports Complex, sealing their victory.
Just before halftime, Emmanuel Mamah scored the game-winning goal to put his team ahead in what would ultimately prove to be the pivotal moment of the contest.
With a six-point deficit into matchday 32 after Aduana FC’s defeat to Bechem United on Saturday, Medeama SC was the only team with a chance to challenge FC Samartex.
However, the defending champions were stunned in the dying moments of their game against Heart of Lions at Akoon Park, handing FC Samartex the advantage.
The match was delayed due to heavy downpours rendering the pitch inconvenient, but after consistent interventions and inspections, the game resumed with the entire second half being played.
The victory evoked joyful scenes at the Nsenkyire Stadium, with die-hard fans jubilating with sheer emotion and excitement. Samartex have done the unthinkable in just their second season, having only tasted top-flight football last season.
Samartex’s triumph means no Ghana Premier League champion has defended their title since Asante Kotoko in 2014. They have become the fourth club from the Western Region to win the Ghana Premier League after Sekondi XI Wise, Hasaacas, and Medeama SC, who won it last season.
After 32 matches, FC Samartex have won 18 games, drawn four times, and lost 10, showcasing their impressive form throughout the season.
