A new king is here! Stonebwoy is the 2024 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) Artiste of the Year.
He beat stiff competition from five others namely; Black Sherif, King Promise, Kuami Eugene, Nacee and Sarkodie to win the award.

Year, Record of the Year, and Best Dancehall Artiste were the other five accolades that Stonebwoy took home in addition to Artiste of the Year.
Stonebwoy won his first TGMA Artiste of the Year honor in 2015. This is his second such honor. Aside from the group VIP and rapper Sarkodie, he is the third musician in history to reach this feat.
Surrounded by friends and family, including his wife Dr. Louisa Satekla, Stonebwoy expressed his gratitude on stage.
“I just want to say thanks to the Most High God. Thank you mama wherever you are, thank you for showering your blessings upon your son. I wrote a long speech but I am lost for words,” the musician said.
Along with thanking his supporters for their unwavering support, Stonebwoy also praised the other artists in the category for their valiant efforts.
Stonebwoy made a request to Charterhouse, the organization behind the Telecel Ghana Music Awards, to reveal the 2019 winners before he exited the stage.
Following an altercation with Shatta Wale that resulted in their one-year suspension, the announcement was postponed and ultimately canceled.
Stonebwoy believes he won the award that night and, if confirmed, he would become the only artiste in history to win it three times.
